YOGA & MEDITATION
Yoga and Meditation gatherings will resume here next Wednesday evening: Yoga from 5:30 -7PM, and meditation form 7-9PM. Please let me know if you are planning to attend. Yoga is a practice of bringing awareness into the body to develop strength and flexibility by aligning mind, body, and spirit. Meditation is an opportunity to relax the mind, open the heart, and connect with the soul. Being part of a meditation group provides the support and instruction to deepen into practice. Beginners are welcome. Suggested donation is $10 for each group.
NEW YEAR’S RETREAT
This years silent New Years Retreat begins Wednesday evening, December 28 and completes at noon on Saturday, January 1. It is a natural time to reflect on the lessons for the last year and prepare in a deep and connected way for the coming year. The retreat includes a New Year’s ritual, healthy vegetarian meals, yoga and meditation sessions, as well as time for personal reflection and energy renewal. Cost for the 3 Day retreat is $375. Work scholarships are available, and $100 deposit holds your space.
FAIRY TALE SEMNAR
The monthly Mythology Seminar is ending in November. Next year’s seminar will focus on fairy tales, and the symbolic meaning and implications of particular stories. The seminar meets monthly, on Saturday mornings from 11AM-1PM. Over the year, participants present two or three tales followed by a group discussion of their relevance in our lives. The group meets monthly form 11-1 for 10 sessions. The cost is $60/session. A year commitment is encouraged with a reduced rate of $500 for all 10 sessions. CEU’s are available.
SANDPLAY CONSULTATION GROUP
A Sandplay Consultation Group is available for therapists who are using Sandplay therapy in their practices. Participants bring photos of their sandplay cases for review and discussion. The group meets monthly on Saturday mornings from 9-11, the same day as the Fairy Tale Seminar. Cost is $60/session or $500/10 sessions. CEU’s are available, as well as credit towards sandplay certification.
SANDPLAY & SYMBOLIC LANGUAGE STUDIES
UCSD offers a certification program in Sandplay Therapy Studies. Although the program is open to anyone who is interested, it is geared towards professionals who use sandplay in their work. If you are interested, contact Kristy Higden (khigdon@ucsd.edu) or myself for further information.
